We lived in an apartment with no a/c in California, and it did great to keep us cool. Even if we decide to not use the ice and water in the back, it is powerful enough to keep a nice breeze flowing. It isn't the quietest in the world, but it isn't too loud to keep us awake at night. We moved to Nevada and upgraded to A/C, but we still use this in our office space, helps with the heat generated by two PC's. The remote is a plus for when I am in a video call or lounging in bad lol. Put it on oscillate and it does well to circulate the air.
