Review: Brilliant, versatile solution - I bought the mobile hub for my elderly mother who uses a landline phone adapted for people with disabilities such as partial sight and dementia. When she moved into a care home she could not easily have her own landline, but the liGo hub has enabled her to keep the phone she is able to use. It was very simple to pair the hub to an old mobile phone and then plug mum's adapted handset into the hub. It works brilliantly and mum is delighted. Could it be cheaper? Probably, because it's new to the UK market, but it works extremely well and you you get what you pay for. In my case I compared the price with the cost of having a new landline installed for my mother and the mobile hub was cheaper than any landline deal available in our area. Leaving my mother's particular circumstances aside, at some point I would certainly consider buying another liGo hub for my own use to solve the problem of the poor mobile signal in most of our house. Review: One Function Works Adequately - Ligo Blue Wave The Ligo Blue Wave is almost returned. However, for the one function it performs adequately, it is worth the £20. Incoming calls to the mobilephone cause the cordless house telephones to ring out and the call may be taken on a cordless. That function works and is useful. When a landline call is answered on a cordless, the device causes an echo on outgoing speech. This is confirmed by cutting the power to the device mid call. Unless the call is to be very short, the device is switched off. It is impossible to make an outgoing call on the cordless via the installed mobilephone. The power supply is ill conceived. It is one where a local plug clips on. Unfortunately, it then sticks out horizontally and is vulnerable to impact. It is unsuitable for a traffic location. The enclosed instructions are not in English but an English version is to be found on the internet. If only the working function was claimed, satisfaction would be higher. If the Ligo Blue Wave breaks, it will not be replaced. ### ⭐ Incompatible with UK landline Caller ID, Incorrectly set for UK (R)ecall, Firmware not upgradeable, No longer supported *by J***9 on 21 June 2016* Despite ordering this item in 2016, the unit I received was made in 2012! This is a rebadged Xlink BTTN from the USA. It is easy enough to setup as long as you're not using it with a BT branded phone (corded or cordless), in which case the supplied RJ11 cable will not work. You can buy the correct one for around £2 but it should be included. The 5m range on the Bluetooth is very optimistic, I'd say 3m was more realistic or you will experience poor audio quality. It supports Caller ID on a mobile call, but not on a landline call. You can switch the line you make an outgoing call on by pressing (R)ecall on your phone, unfortunately the Bluewave is set to 90ms but we use 100ms in the UK. Therefore it is very hit and miss unless you change the setting for your phone or the Bluewave to match. You can change the Bluewave to 100ms but you will have to connect it to a Windows PC with a USB cable and download the firmware update tool from Xlink. The tool on the Ligo website is out of date and does not work at all, neither does downloading the manual. The Xlink tool will allow you to configure the Bluewave, but not update the firmware because it is no longer supported (Ligo confirmed this to me by phone, and Xlink confirmed this to me by email). The firmware in the Bluewave is very old and out of date, apparently a later update fixes the Caller ID problem, shame you can't download it. Basically the Ligo Bluewave is obsolete so I don't recommend you buy it. You can import the latest Xlink BTTN from some sellers on Amazon.com, fleabay or direct from Xlink in the USA, but they are significantly more than the Ligo Bluewave here, and be aware you will most likely need to source your own 9 volt UK power supply or a USA to UK plug converter.
