Its a sweatshirt, but the styling has nice details. I like the circle zipper pull and the drop shoulders and it has a nice sheen to it that you don't get with the traditional sweatshirt. These features dress it up a bit. Its warm and soft and a great length. If you don't like overly baggy, I would size down.
