You just have to consider your dog and if they will let you use it. Then after you use it you have to dry your dogs feet too. After doing all of that you also have to clean this cup and scrubber! Either way they hated the experience. The first time I used the paw washing cup it freaked them out to stick their paws into it. Now they wait their turn. I think the warm water and swishing the cup sideways to clean in-between their pads must feel good because they stand patiently still.
