I have a cheaper knife and this stone is a perfect.I used perpendicular up and down strokes to start off the new edge, and then more parallel upward strokes (away from the blade) to finish it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for Profiling *by K***Y on January 26, 2025* Cuts steel like it is supposed to. Honestly this thing is better than the DMT stones I have been buying. It is possible this will not last as long as a DMT, but the diamond coverage is even. With the DMT stones I have, the extra coarse is missing coverage along the edges and the coarse has giant pieces of grit contamination that literally nick my blade when I run into them sharpening. If you're looking for a stone to just profile or get a knife sharp this is a good cheap choice. I do not have a microscope or any way to tell if there is grit contamination on the 1000 grit side but from the research I have done, these stones do. So the 1000 grit will leave deeper scratches due to the contamination but unless your really trying to go to a mirror polish that is no issue at all. But for 18-20$ again this is an awesome stone that will sharpen a knife. Your basically getting 2 good profiling stones for 20$. This and a strop and your good to go. Ill update after I have had it for a while and see how long it lasts. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding!!!! *by M***B on December 28, 2024* Apologies for the no image.This diamond sharpening stone (400/1000 grit) is real and absolutely the best. I opened the package a few minutes ago and tested it: absolutely amazing!!! Its a full metal single piece, labeled accordingly and accurately. I have multiple sharpening stones and tools but this one is the most satisfying - to me...The weight alone is a good indication that you are getting more than expected and the quality is excellent. I used a magnifying glass to determine whether this stone has any damage or defect, but am unable to locate any. I understand other reviewers/purchasers state they received a defective/blemished stone and feel for them. I am grateful that I received one in pristine condition.It took a few short strokes for the diamond stone to work its magic...Highly recommend.
