They work great. And I do mean actual potatoes. I use the 30 gallon size and i slowly add soil to cover as the leaves pop above the surface. **Q: Can these stand along or should they be placed into a planter?** A: They can stand alone but we place ours in a milk crate. That way they can be moved if necessary. Like from the greenhouse to outside. **Q: Is the fabric material fairly permeable? Can the be used in hydroponic flood tables? Or do they have to be top watered?** A: I'm using them outdoors, been top watering them with good results. Not familiar with hydroponic gardening but they would probably do well. **Q: What's the lifespan of these pots? One season, two seasons?** A: I’ve got some of these pots in my garden going on their 5th year of use. I don’t even do anything special. They sit outside in my garden all year with potting soil in them. I’ve planted perennial berry bushes in the 15 gallon size and they lived through-20 F. It’s nice to grow berry bushes in the bags because I can control the pH of the soil a lot easier. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars I like these! *by S***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2023* I'm learning container vegetable gardening and these were perfect for growing baby new potatoes. After harvest last year, I left them outside in the weather and was still able to reuse them again this year too.You must water a little more than you would a clay pot because the air flow but that's also great to make sure you don't get rotThese are a great solution if you can't plant directly in the ground ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great! *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2023* Works great! Not super cheap flimsy fabric pots. They offer a variety of sizes to choose from and are sturdy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars I have been converted! *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2023* At first I wasn't sold on these, but we needed something to use outside for tomatoes, pumpkin, and watermelons, so I got these. Filling with good soil, these are fantastic! The plants are thriving, and with these being fabric, over-watering is much harder to do. These also work great for plans that like a well-drained soli, like the tomatoes.Even filled with dirt (two or three cubic feet), they are not so heave that they cannot be moved. They have held up well, and have proven to be a great addition to our garden. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/61026205-247garden-5-pack-25-gallon-grow-bags-aeration-fabric-pots](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/61026205-247garden-5-pack-25-gallon-grow-bags-aeration-fabric-pots) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-11-03*
