I have a 32" waist and 46" hips and because of my shape i usually order smaller than things state...but this time, based on reviews, i ordered a 3x and I'm so happy i did! Its firm enough...very firm...but also not uncomfortable! This has been exactly what I've been looking for my entire life! They have a loyal customer for life now <3 oh and i also don't wear nylons so i cut the clips off and it works just fine without them! I'm sure it scoots up a little bit but not so much that it isn't still functional without being clipped. First off it barely covered my lady bits. I am 5'7" and this was so short. I don't even think it fully covered my bottom and the garter straps were clearly visible under clothing and we so high up it was just bad. Also, while it provided slimming in the tummy it also flattened out my bottom so much it was unflattering. I ordered a Large after reading that it ran small, maybe I should have gone up to an XL? It's really no more restrictive than control-top pantyhose -- better, actually, because it's open at the bottom -- and it doesn't roll or shift, even when I do bends and stretches on purpose to test it. I find I can move quite comfortably and I don't feel squashed or overly "shaped" at all; also, since it sits at my natural waist, I don't have bulging above the waistband. The grips are strong and feel reliable, though I haven't done a full day yet.If you want firm shaping, this isn't really for you, though it'll smooth you out a bit.
