They come in paper packaging and there is no additional plastic waste included in the box. Although it would be good to have even less packaging, the individual boxes did make these suitable for small gifts too.It is not 100% clear whether the bristles are actually biodegradable but it seems this is a problem with all bamboo brushes on the market. It’s hard to find a straight answer anywhere.The brushes are listed as soft but they are not the softest bristles. I am used to ultra soft bristles and on the first few days of use these left my gums feeling a little tender. The bristles my be soft but they have straight cut ends which leaves them a little scratchy.
