It accommodates our 11lb Yorkie, our 8lb Maltese, and our 4lb Yorkie (separately, of course, though I could easily put the smaller two in together). They all are carried comfortably and it is incredibly lightweight and soft. It doesn't dig into your neck and it and, most importantly to me, doesn't sag. I have had 6 major back surgeries and can carry the little ones around without additional pain.I am so thrilled with the purchase that I am going to buy 3 more (we also have a cat so they can each have their own). They are all so calm being carried about (if you know Yorkies, that's generally not the case). Not unlike human babies, they are (and adore being) swaddled while you can be hands-free.I want you to know this: I am SO GRATEFUL that I went with the sling rather than a hoodie or similar sweatshirt. There is also a clip so they won’t fall out. Mine never tried to jump out…just laid there ready to snooze.
