She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. In addition to thirteen years as a home educator, she has almost a decade of university-level teaching experience. She lives with her husband and daughter in Nashville, Tennessee.

    "Ice On The Wing" is my first Shalynn Ford Womack book, and it certainly won't be my last.Womack seems to be a happy product of a union between Jean Shepherd and Dorothy Parker, with  genetic material donated by Dave Berry, Amy Poehler, Andy Rooney  and Garrison Keillor.That's the only way to describe this amazing blend of personal, political, and parenting experiences of a thirty-and then-forty-something writer who experiences the world in fifty shades of black -- balancing everything from bankruptcy to reflections on Peter Pan to dating the guy who "...is the Ebola virus of the dating crowd" to Godiva chocolate addiction.As the Introduction states with alacrity and insight, "...Womack wrote these columns with passion, a fierce intelligence, and often with some anger at the injustice she observed in daily life. There was also a softer side to many of these pieces, often revealing a dry, almost sardonic wit. There was a voice at work in these columns; one that was, in turns, loving, angry, sad, funny, poignant, bittersweet, and longing."Enjoy the ride, but keep in mind what Bette Davis once said, "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night."  Trust me, you're going to love these bumps.
