Tbh I've used a few of these and they don't wear particularly well. After around 3 to 4 uses and cleaning in-between they fell apart. I've gone back to the normal bbq grill and a wire wool scourer to clean them after use. **Q: Does it make any stains after using with grill?** A: The simple answer is 'No' . I suppose that if you use too much heat the silicone could become pliable and stick to the grill but you'd be using excessive heat to make that happen. I really didn't think that the mats would do what they claimed - but they do. You can grill on them and mop any fat etc. excess off before it runs onto any metal. I even tested the idea that you can fry an egg on them! It surprised me to see that you can. It's a good idea to ensure the grill is level (eggs are runny!) or contain the egg inside something like a metal ring. They wash clean easily and are a surprisingly good addition to outside Summer cooking. **Q: We used your mats for first time today and the plastic has come off on the meat? Can you explain this?** A: I think you’ll find it’s not plastic, it’s the fat that’s pooled onto the mat, then as the food cooks, these deposits of fat take the shape of the mat and this is what you see on your food. I’ve used these mats for the last 4 years, and I get this when I cook.
