If so then yes. It only heats up when plugged in and whilst plugged in needs to keep going back on the stand to reheat. It can’t heat independently **Q: How can u tell when the iron is charged for cordless use?** A: It doesn't charge, it heats up, exactly like a corded iron, but then you can detach the iron from the base, and use it for up to a minute, it will cool down, so need to be re-heated. **Q: What kind of ironing board does this work with? So the base is stable.** A: Hi, There is not a specific ironing board for the 2-in-1 Iron as most boards are suitable. The base will be stable as long as the ironing board itself is stable. I love that i can use it plugged in or cordless. The lead is really long and its lighweight and easy to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can be used as cordless or as a standard corded iron. *by A***R on 9 November 2025* This iron is useful as it can be used as both locked to the electric base like a standard iron or unlocked from the base and used as a cordless iron. If using as cordless, yes you may need to wait a little longer sometimes for it to heat up but the benefit is it is cordless. The iron is light and work well for my needs. I don’t use steam when ironing so cannot comment on this. The fact you can keep it attached to the base and use as a normal corded iron was important to me and ideal at times. The cord is a little shorter than I would’ve liked but it’s ok for me as I just move nearer the plug socket. The one disappointment with this iron design is that I keep knocking the temperature dial when I pick up the iron as it moves round too easily, the dial needs to be a little stiffer.
