I use a rosewood stick to hold my loose nail open, and then place a drop or two of liquid in the crevice. After about 5 minutes, the nail comes off easily. What would make it even more effective is if the dropper were sized and shaped in such a way that it would slide right into the crevice. Its big and bulky shape makes the process more awkward than it should be. Nonetheless, I will buy it again and again!
