I purchased this to hide my waste bins. It holds two. since my home has 4 bins, I purchased 2 x Keter units. The unit is self contained with a floor, back and side panels, 2 x open-swinging front door panels and a lid that opens upwards. This can be chained to the lid of waste bins so they open when you open the Keter, also easily disconnected. I saw no extra piece for any shelf, nor can I imagine what good a shelf would be. If you weren't using this for bins but instead used it for small bicycles, the internal space would be used by the items placed inside. I'm not sure it's wide enough for full size adult bikes, but they have a larger unit for those. Once assembled it is neat and sturdy. I'm very happy with this purchase. **Q: Does this come with the base ie.
