Long enough so that some of the buttons are getting hard to read. The rechargeable batteries are supposed to last several years; maybe 3-5 years. I don't really know how long. Our phones and batteries have been in use a lot longer than that.We began to have problems with the family room phone. I took one battery out to check its status and lost it somewhere in my office. So I had to buy two new ones (they don't sell just one). I put both new batteries in the phone and kept the old one as a spare. So far, no problems with the phone. Was it the batteries?
