It makes fieldwork possible in even the worst weather conditions! It's definitely synthetic, it feels plastic-like (you can cut it but can't tear it for trying). It does everything it claims it can do well, including being photocopyable and laserprintable, but I don't know anything about alcohol inks, sorry. **Q: Hi. I bought this after reading that sub aqua divers use it for their decompression tables and thinking if it's good enough for them in a critical situation it must be good.Prints are sharp and crisp on a laser printer.Only odd thing about the second box I just bought is that the seal was cut open.
