I wanted something that I could use for my commute to and from business, and something that I could use for nipping into the shop to buy a few groceries (now I'm not talking the weekly shop here simply the odd bottle of milk etc). Sadly these panniers wouldn't carry much either in weight nor size. They are small, far too small for an A4 file or for a 13" laptop so not recommended for college commute or even business commute, not really practical for shopping or for packing a coat for presumed weather change in the summer. Now for what I can carry in them: A Kryptonite Messenger Mini +1 in the front section (not pocket) of each bag, a lock wire for locking the seat onto the locks, a small sandwich box and a 0.5L water flask, a small first aid kit and a water proof bike cover. I can fit 2x Kilo of carrots in the other bag or 2 small books and a lock.These panniers are well made, look beautiful and classy on the bike but are simply lacking in size at best what you have here is two small handbags but for a bike. The 4 stars is for the quality, but the practicality is only a 2 star. For instance, there's no handle to remove and carry the bags into the office/ School or Shop, so these bags are meant to stay on the bike, meaning you have to carry another set of bags (1 shopping bag really to empty the contents into before leaving your bike parked up or risk loosing whatever you take with you. Since most people buy Panniers to contain our necessities for our Daily commute I wouldn't recommend them but.
