My dog is very effective most of the time, but I am hard of hearing and needed more. The doorbell works well and provides many options for sound from normal doorbell chimes to various tunes. I was able to easily select something I liked that I can more easily hear. The only negative I have is that the screws that were supplied for more reliable installation were absolute garbage. They were for installation in drywall but were too soft for driving into wood. Yes, I drilled proper pilot holes, but the screws were just too soft. They almost broke. For me it was no big deal to walk across the street and get stainless steel screws. Most items that supply installation hardware supply better fasteners.
