At first it tastes a lot like a cheesy chef boyardee tomato sauce (like a 50 mozzarella cheese/50 tomato sauce taste), then less than a second later you taste the 'zest' and spices that reminds you that yes, this is queso. I think it's this quality that affords it so many versatile applications.At 2.5 g of fat per serving, a nut-free recipe, and not having any unnamed "flavor" ingredients this is an easy win on the ingredient scale as well.The consistency is mostly a smooth paste (thankfully, I'm tired of excessive 'chunks') and is quite suitable for the applications it suggests.I am very surprised that I have found a vegan queso product that I like.
