It produces a nice bright white light that can be seen from a good distance, which is important if you intend to be out on the water at night / dawn / dusk where other boats are present. I particularly like the ease of attaching or removing the light. I installed the stainless steel eyebolt on one of my kayaks to attach the light but on my other kayak I was able to attach the light on an existing piece of hardware. Because it uses a bungee cord as the fastening mechanism, it also gives on direct impact such as getting hit by a paddle but will spring back into its original position. A good accessory.
