**Q: How far over does the lip extend? Beyond 21 inches?**
A: The "Lip" is 1 1/8 inch. The width / length of the scrap basket is 19.87" (20" x 20"). With the 1 1/8" "Lip" in addition to that on either side. We hope this helps.

**Q: How big are the holes on the basket?**
A: They're not big, they're small!

Industry standard is ~1/4". However, our holes are ~1/8" because small foods (rice, etc) can slip through the larger holes.

**Q: Does the basket drain quickly when not obstructed?**
A: Thanks for your question. 

That's hard to answer, because it depends on your definition of quickly. This basket strainer is designed to so that food products > 1/8" won't slip through - so this will catch rice, etc. As long as the holes aren't clogged, water should drain at an appropriate rate.
