Aluminum body garden clippers with safety latch, 3-stage action. : Left Handed Rachet Pruners : Patio, Lawn & Garden Review: amazing!! - I own a container full of hand pruners that don't work all that well. I have weak hands from arthritis and being elderly, but I love to prune. These pruners are amazing and work well with weak hands (I am female), and they look to last a long time.. They even include little pad things to keep the blade oiled and clean. I gave them a workout yesterday and I was able to prune for over an hour. The amazing part is they made pruning fun rather than painful. Cut quickly and easily with branches up to a 1/2 inch. The rachet works smoothly and powerful. The really amazing part is my hands were not in pain at all afterward. Usually, I pay with sore, stiff hands for at least a day after doing pruning. for pruning that long. I would definitely recommend it.. I am fearful these will disappear from desertcart, so I am ordering a second pair today to put aside in case I lose the first pair. I am definitely a happy gardener again. Can't say enough good things. If you are hesitating over price, don't worry. I have several hand prunders that din't even last a season and were difficult for me to use. Last year I bought 2 different pairs of pruners and the combined prices far exceeded of the two far exceeded the price of these. Those other two are on their way to Salvation Army. The only drawback is they are a bit difficult to lock & unlock, but with use that seems to be getting to be less of an issue.to lock but the more I lock and unlock & get the hang of how the locking mechanism works, the easier it gets. Enjoy!!! What does each "stage" do?** A: This is a great question! When you open the pruners wide to make a large cut and then squeeze the handles, the pruner makes it about 1/3 of the way through the branch, release and depress again and it goes about 2/3's through and on the final "stage" or "squeeze", the branch is finally cut through. Each of these three squeezes or 'Stages" takes less hand pressure to complete and this is the purpose of the ratchet mechanism, to make pruning easier for each cut. Occasionally it will take four stages or cuts to complete. Bottom line, easier on the hands, and this is the whole purpose of this tool, to make hard cuts easier and reduce pressure and strain on the hands. Check out the pictures in the upper left hand corner to see this process. And thanks for asking! **Q: Can left-handed people use these?** A: I am left-handed and found no problem. **Q: Is it also for cutting for small diameter also, like flowers?** A: Hi Leon,Yes, they are great for small snips like deadheading flowers. My wife uses them all the time in her flower garden. This is one of the great things about them that if you open the jaws slightly, like the size of a blossom stem, they do not engage the ratchet mechanism. And yet they can cut one inch branches. (That is pushing it a bit but I certainly have done many 1" branches.)The light weight makes them good for more delicate jobs as well. Thanks for asking!Paul Grimm **Q: is the ratcheting mechanism metal.** A: Yes. It is a two metal ratchet system and very strong. No spring! So it will not separate or have a spring go flying when you put pressure on it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ amazing!! *by G***Y on April 26, 2021* I own a container full of hand pruners that don't work all that well. I have a large yard (3.3 acres) and I am working on clearing it. My yard is wooded, hardwoods, pines, etc. Also plenty of underbrush primarily invasive honeysuckle. These pruning shears are fabulous! They are ratcheting, which means they cut very large branches. If you have never owned a pair of ratcheting pruners you are in for a treat. They cut through branches I never would have been able to attempt with regular pruners - like butter! I am a 72 year woman with arthritis. These have been a blessing for me. They are an excellent value for the money. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ratchet Pruning Shears Gardening Tool – Anvil Pruner with Assisted Action – Ratcheting Pruners for with Heavy Duty, Nonstick Steel Blade – Garden Tools by The Gardener's Friend - MEPEREZ Germany Pruning Shears, Arthritis Weak Hand Snips, Work 3 Times Easier, 1-Inch Cut Capacity Garden Clippers, Ergonomic handle, Rust resistant, high strength steel, Sharp - Ultra Sharp Japanese Steel Pruning Shears - Cuts 3X Easier, Weak Hand Arthritis Clippers, Rust-Resistant Titanium Coated Pruner, Effortlessly Cuts 3/4 Inch --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/617941-the-gardeners-friend-heavy-duty-ratchet-pruning-shears-anvil](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/617941-the-gardeners-friend-heavy-duty-ratchet-pruning-shears-anvil) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
