Review: Cooks perfectly, seals in the steam and is so easy to clean - Why oh why did I not buy one sooner?!?!??!! I bought this based upon the reviews which stated that it keeps the steam well sealed and it does! Apart from the holes in the lid to allow some steam to escape and the small lip at the side of the base where you can refill with water if you need to, the steam stays in the food containers. I used this on Sunday for the roast dinner. As I usually do at least 4 veg as well as roast potatoes, I use a lot of saucepans and washing up is the thing I hate the most after dinner. But after getting this, I could put, basically, up to 6 different veg in it (2 per container) depending upon how many you are feeding. I put the ones needing the longest to cook at the bottom and those requiring less cooking such as broccoli at the top and set it for 40 mins but 35mins were plenty and there was no problem about it boiling dry (I have burnt a few pans in my time, and those with carrots are a nightmare due to the sugar content!). The veg was cooked perfectly, soft enough for everyone but still firm. The broccoli seemed greener than when cooked in water. Thereby obviously retaining more of the nutrients. To me, the carrots tasted better too. And oh wow! Best of all, it was easy to clean at the end of the meal. Rather than 4 or 5 pans I only used 1 and this. Thank you desertcart!! **Q: I would only need to use one basket. Does the lid fit the basket that goes first onto the base?**
A: Yes, the lid fits all the baskets/trays.  This enables you to use one tray, two trays or three trays.

**Q: How do you stop the timer - switch off before moving the dial back to zero, or does that not matter? Don't want to damage it**
A: I just switch it off by the mains and let the timer go off by itself.

**Q: I have a large family of 6 is it big enough?**
A: Hello, I have used this for a family of 5.  4 adults and 1 child and it was plemry big enough

**Q: Does the timer give a sound when food is done? Thank you**
A: The timer pings audibly once when complete. There is no continuous sounds other than that.

Why oh why did I not buy one sooner?!?!??!! I bought this based upon the reviews which stated that it keeps the steam well sealed and it does! Apart from the holes in the lid to allow some steam to escape and the small lip at the side of the base where you can refill with water if you need to, the steam stays in the food containers. I used this on Sunday for the roast dinner. As I usually do at least 4 veg as well as roast potatoes, I use a lot of saucepans and washing up is the thing I hate the most after dinner. But after getting this, I could put, basically, up to 6 different veg in it (2 per container) depending upon how many you are feeding. I purchased these steamer after my trusty old one bit the dust. It is a very good sized steamer, and works great. The only issue I have is I find the lid quite flimsy, my last ine was solid plastic, this lid feels flimsy and sometimes I have a problem getting the lid to go on properly. Maybe it is just me? Yes it is a good steamer, yes it will feed a big family, yes it was value for money, flimsy lid but I can live with that.
