The boxes are kind of like a heavy cardboard wrapped in a cloth material, but are durable for their purpose. They are sturdy enough to hold the CDs. The black color looks nice. The lids make it easy to stack on top of each other. You do have to take off the lid to see the CD case 'spine' which has the name label on it. Overall pleased with product. One negative - I was shipped the wrong product initially.
