I do not think it could get hot enough without burning out. **Q: Does it have an insulation on it?** A: This is just wires, no insulation comes with it.. **Q: how do I find out the gage of wire that is in my coil element? what tool do I use to measure** A: You need to use a set of calipers. **Q: Can this be used in the interior of ceramics for reinforcement fired at cone 05?** A: Cone 05 reaches temperatures of 1888°F at a ramp rate of 108°F/hr. So I took some of this wire, wrapped it around a pencil and replaced the entire element.
