They work exactly as stated. I cut the berry in half, removed the seed then ate only one half at a time. I felt eating the entire berry was too sweet. Chew the berry making sure to coat your tongue well. Wait about 3-4 minutes before eating something. My first try was with a lemon. To my surprise, the lemon was nice and sweet. I actually made lemonade without sugar! I know people who use the Miracle Berry to help them lose weight. Caution! Do not eat the little white seed in the middle of the berry, it’s disgusting. Some people say it's the greatest thing since the discovery of sugar; others say it doesn't do anything. I seem to fall into the camp that find it a big disappointment. Removed the seed, chewed the flesh of the berry thoroughly (which to me has exactly no taste at all), then tried different foods for simulated sweetness. Nothing. Lemon was still sour with its normal slight bitterness, lime was too tart to drink, and so on. Mixed in with a small amount of citrus yielded no different results. The science of this berry seems to be pretty solid but this won't be an experiment I'll be repeating.
