The bags fit funky on smaller trees but we like they go around the trunk because we live in a windy area and feared the other types would blow away when empty. They do empty quicker than we anticipated but our trees are doing wonderful we fill them once to twice a week and we are in the desert and our trees are looking great. My only complaint is one of our bags has already busted and we purchased them two months ago.
