I suspect that’s because whatever they used to colour the sticks black reduces their ability to soak up and evaporate the fragrance. The reason I bought this particular diffuser was the colour of the reeds. I will say it looks very stylish in my entryway, but the fragrance doesn’t permeate the area very well and when I do smell it, I’m not a huge fan of the actual scent. With a description of “linen and cucumber” I expect a light, fresh scent reminiscent at least one of those two things. Instead it just smells like a cloying perfume, more floral than anything else - no hint of what it’s supposed to smell like.Does the job I guess? But there are definitely better choices out there. Very dissapointed, thought I treat myself as had a cucumber scent beforehand it was beautiful and fresh. Obviously with Covid you can't get this sort of thing.
