Review: Sony STR AZ5000es thoughts - Got the Reciever as a Refurbished unit and price was good. Product did not arrived with original Sony box hence minus 1 star, but was packed well enough. Small scratch by the panel i polished it up and good now. The reciever practically looks new as have to unpack all the accessories that came with. First thing I did is upgrade the firmware to latest 1.47 version. No hiss or pops . Sounds very good and haven't done any Calibration yet. Running 7.1.2 for now as have a moderate size living room. Im coming from a Yamaha Aventage 2080 and I believe its a Step up . The Yamaha is still very much viable but the Sony is definitely an upgrade. My .02 cents Thanks ## Features - Video content at up to 8K resolution is supported, in addition to 4K at 120 Hz for smoother next-gen gameplay. - The seven HDMI inputs and dual outputs support the HDMI 2.1 specification, which enables higher quality content thanks to low-latency technologies. - To improve realism, the STR-AZ5000ES supports many HDR standards, such as HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision, and IMAX Enhanced. - Supporting 11.2 channels of audio at 130W per channel, the STR-AZ5000ES allows you to fill your space with enough speakers and subwoofers to replicate a theater environment. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #336,894 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #725 in Audio/Video Receivers & Amplifiers | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 10 Reviews | ## Images ![Sony STR-AZ5000ES 11.2 Channel 8K Home Theater AV Receiver (Renewed) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZvSkQCGuL.jpg) ![Sony STR-AZ5000ES 11.2 Channel 8K Home Theater AV Receiver (Renewed) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31nMwuWFYRL.jpg) ![Sony STR-AZ5000ES 11.2 Channel 8K Home Theater AV Receiver (Renewed) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/410BpaBv+tL.jpg) ![Sony STR-AZ5000ES 11.2 Channel 8K Home Theater AV Receiver (Renewed) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31zSWYR7nFL.jpg) ![Sony STR-AZ5000ES 11.2 Channel 8K Home Theater AV Receiver (Renewed) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81PW-u3JPPL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saved a bunch of money buying Amazon Renewed on this receiver *by R***A on April 13, 2026* Fantastic value for Amazon Renewed STR-AZ5000ES.
