The 20 ft. length is what I needed to trim the top of a willow tree without standing on near the top of a 6ft. ladder. HOwever, when the pole is extended fully (~20ft), it is difficult to control and the pole flexes - hence the 4 star. A slightly more stiff extension would make the pole more easily controllable.
