But I after I got it working and playing with it for a couple of days now, I must admit it's an excellent controller. I think it's an excellent tool to get introduce yourself to this DJ'ing world before upgrading to a more serious one. For me one of the basic features is the headphone pres listening, that is basic if you want to improvise. The biggest drawback is a plus at the same time, it's small and portable, controls a ton of DJ programs and some midi based lighting software as well. The drawback is it's small part just a because a lot of clients expect some massive looking rig for their cash. I can fit this in my shoulder bag ( not even briefcase size, see " manbag" ) with a ton of music on the netbook, UBS's and portable hard drive. Everything about this unit feels solid, that being said I would have opted for a USB connector port instead of hard wired connection. Well worth the cash for working DJs, plays well with virtual DJ software ( has buttons for looping, fx and loading songs. No more plugging in micro jacks to your laptop, hum and buzz when you plug in said laptop and has a good internal sound card with headphone out. Only thing missing on this unit that I can see would be a mic input.
