The gel within never actually freezes but retains a very low temperature for hours while being flexible. I’ve used it as an actual pillow on top of my bed pillow (when it’s not ice cold). Better use case is to place the gel pillow over your bed pillow to transfer the coldness and then lay back down, brings instant relief. Also use it to cover much larger areas such as the stomach or abdomen.
