Electrician was impressed, he has replaced a few fans that could have done with one of these. Only gripe is there is only one snug100mm collar supplied. Not the end of the world but would be so much better with two. Have connected a clear bottle to the outlet to catch any liquid and also stop the air blowing out. If I’m using an in-line fan, I fit the fan at the exit point and run the duct work down hill away from the fan. The trap is then fitted just above the ceiling vent/entry point, as close as possible to the lowest part of the duct run but high enough to maintain a fall on the condensate pipe. If I’m fitting a ceiling fan, I run the duct work down hill towards the fan with the trap between the fan and the rest of the duct work. The trap should be fitted vertically for best results. The condensate pipe also needs a water trap or similar if it’s been run directly in to a waste pipe. This is to avoid odours entering the duct or bathroom. **Q: What is the internal diameter?** A: It has internal longitudinal ribs that hold a 100mm (exterior diameter) pipe, when you push it home. The actual internal tube diameter seems to be 110mm but that is complimented by a removable collar at each end that makes the pipe fit snugly. Hope that helps. **Q: What size is the small drain pipe fitting** A: 32mm solvent weld pipe will solvent weld to this if you pull the rubber stopper out. Nice fit. I originally had ‘over flow’ pipe going into the rubber stoppper. Think it was 21.5m, then used an adapter I found to convert it to 32mm pushfit (went into a fitting such as elbow etc) but much neater and more permanent now it’s solvent welded straight into the 32mm.
