However, in the deluxe version, it is just this color of brown. **Q: How do you stop the backgammon set from just flipping shut?** A: The long sides have a metal spring strip that will want to roll closed until you unsping it by putting your finger near the inside end and your thumbs on the outside a bit in towards the center.....while keeping the end steady with your finger push in slightly with your thumbs. You should hear an audible click as the band straightens out. The bands are like those metal snap strips you may have seen for keeping your pant legs out of the bicycle chain. The brilliant design, with stiff borders/edges that stay raised through magnetism, make this the perfect option for use on a picnic table, bus, boat or airplane because they prevent your dice from flying off the board onto the floor. I highly recommend this style instead of the lower-priced model with flat edges. Also, the board is the perfect size for either travel or home use - not too small and not too large. It's 14L x 11W, and the checkers are the size of a nickel, more substantial than the miniature-sized ones that are hard to pick.
