The part with the lift up flap goes on the inside of the window frame and the larger grill part goes on the outside of the frame. I drilled a series of holes along the line of where I fitted the vent to provide the airflow using a very sharp new drill. **Q: Do these go on the window or above on the frame?** A: They can go on either, but the frame is best **Q: Does it come with a packaging which confirms that 407mm length providing an impressive 3728 mm2 air flow tested in accordance with bs en 13141-1:2004** A: Yes **Q: 1. Should the flap open up or downwards? 2. How often/long should they be open for to stop the condensation/damp please?** A: Flap hinge should be at the top and the flap open upwards. Is a bit flimsy but once attached to the window, it works perfectly fine. Fitted the previous holes perfectly and look better. I used the previous fasteners though as the supplied screws had a smaller diameter. Order could have been improved if the inside and outside could be ordered separately as I only required the outside part. Self tapping screws would also be better than the screws provided.
