Think about how close you will be positioning the camera to your subject area and whether you need the more powerful infrared.The 5310WA has a 100 degree wide angle lens and allows the capture of 1080P video with audio or 12MP photos (interpolated from 5MP). The built in sensors will trigger the camera whenever there is movement within the camera view.The Ltl Acorn 5310WA can capture video and/or photos day or night and will record on board to an SD card (not supplied, 16G max). It's powered by AA batteries, a minimum of 4 are needed but you can fit 8 and increase "in the field" running time.Batteries are not included but battery choice is vital for the performance of your camera, do not choose any batteries with a capacity lower than 2500mA - this is very important, with lower power batteries you may find that your camera has problems, especially with night time recording when more power is needed to run the infrared. Having used for several years the Acorn 5210, I expected this camera to be at least as good if not better. If you want to see animals or for that matter anything up to around four feet from the camera then don't buy this camera as all you will see is white light. The wide angle means there are more lights so this amount of light dazzles any object close up. It picks up animals a good distance away but as they come towards the camera they keep going in and out of focus. The field of vision seems inaccurate. I put food out around 3ft away, with my 5210 it looks close but with the 5310WA it looks quite a distance away, a very strange perspective.If you want a camera with a wide field of vision to capture movement over 5ft away, such as animals passing through, then this camera should be fine but if you want to see any close ups, forget it, its impossible.
