The L/XL helmet fits perfectly using the middle-of-the-road setup of one thicker pad (tagged "L") at front or rear, and a thinner ("XL") opposing pad. It could also accommodate a slightly smaller head of similar shape using 2 "L" pads, or slightly larger one with 2 "XL" pads. My advice is to measure your head very carefully and if in doubt, order up in size. These are non-shrink type crash helmets. **Q: Are the sweat pads washable?** A: I haven’t washed mine yet, but in the future I will hand wash them.
