The product is very watery and penatrate **Q: I want to paint my tan soft top black, any tips for best results? foam brush? applied indoors? leave it in sun to dry? any after paint treatment?** A: I would not recommend trying this. The soft top reviver will not turn your tan top black. I wears off after a year or so. I'm not sure there is a way to paint a tan top black, though if it were my car, I'd take it to a professional auto upholsterer for an expert opinion. **Q: I have a 2004 M3, is one container adequate to do the top.** A: I used it on a 2000 camaro ss and applied 2 coats, used almost 2 bottles. Follow it up with 303 waterproofing it is awesome **Q: how long does this product last without fading to original condition?** A: I used the entire bottle making two coatings. First though, I washed it good with Mac Guires cleaner, and let it dry. Following the applications I used the conditioner, (forgot the name). I have a Saturn Sky Roadster, and the top stayed in great condition through weekly car washes for a little over a year. My car top is smallish, so if yours is bigger I'd recommend two bottles. It will stain. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It gets sucked in like when you paint a house with thirsty ... *by N***K on July 16, 2014* It does not give a deep black shiny look. I painted it onto the top of a lincoln town car with a full cloth top with a sunroof. One whole bottle went to the first coat. It gets sucked in like when you paint a house with thirsty wood. Second coat and third coats took one additional bottle. It does not make small scratches disappear and only made a marginal improvement. If I had to do it again I would get a price from a professional auto upholstery place. Update- I did 6 coats on my town car. It took 2 1/2 bottles. The last three coats were applied with a paint roller used for trim work (6in long by 1in round). Now the top looks shinny and new.
