Which is better?** A: I don't have NXT, but I believe that Ultimate Liquid Wax is better, It have Film the NXT don't. The Ultimate is more soft I left in my car 1 hour before remove. Excellent wax by Meguiar's **Q: Do I really need to use Compound and Polish before use this Wax? I have a White car.** A: The 3 step paint treatment from Meguiars recommends using the 3 products: Compound for removing swirl marks, contamination, scratches and rust. Polish for dark colored cars to enrich the color. Wax to protect the paint. If your paint is in mint condition, you probably don't need Compounding and you can go directly to Waxing. By the way, this is the best Wax ever !! **Q: Can I use this product on a new car or will it hurt the clearcoat?** A: You absolutely CAN use it on a new car. I did, applying it the second week after I bought my metallic black car. I did it in my garage where there was no sunlight, but a shady spot on the driveway would also be good. I applied it by hand in small sections, following the directions carefully about not letting it get too dry. I used several clean microfiber cloths to remove it, and finished with a very light buffing with my polisher, though I think this last step wasn't necessary. It does NOT hurt the clearcoat. Info on the package confirms this. I think the Meguiar web site says the same thing. Take a look at Meguiar dot com for more details, but I highly recommend this product, and Amazon's price is far better than what you'll find in auto parts stores, or big box stores. I was very pleased with the outcome. **Q: hi-has anyone used this on black powedercoated step bars?** A: Haven't tried that specifically but, like all liquid/paste wax compounds, it will most likely leave an unsightly whitish residue behind, unless the powdering is very fine, and even then ... For example, I wouldn't use it on that black plastic trim that they seem to be plastering all over new cars these days. I suspect "ArmorAll" protectants might do the job, but they might be too slippery. They also collect dust and wash off in the rain as do, by the way, most wax products - and quickly, too. You might try Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax spray (spray bottle liquid). I use that stuff in various concentrations for all sorts of things. It won't leave any residue; however, it won't "wetlook" things up like ArmorAll, but it will clean, darken, and shine a bit. It could make things slippery, I'm not sure, but not nearly as much so as vinyl protectants. It, too, would dissipate after a few rains, but it is easy to apply. I got mine on Amazon for a while, but they recently raised their price above the average care parts store price, so that's where I'll be getting mine.
