I love using this for my snails. It's more complete nutrition for them then most other foods aside from the snail jello I make them. My snails (which I've now raised about 1,000) love it & my bettas even pick at it. I recommend feeding based on size of snail, or number of snails & size of tank. For example, if I have a 5 gallon tank with baby snails I put 3-4 tablets in every other day to every day depending on how long it takes them to eat. If I have 5 snails bigger than a dime, I feed 1 tablet for every 2 snails every other day. If I have a larger like ping pong ball sized snail by itself in a tank than it gets 1 tablet every other day. In my snail only tank where there is lots of algae & lots of cannibalism & every size from newly hatched to almost 2 yrs old, I feed them everyday a different food every day & when I use this one I just throw about 20 tablets or more in & let them go crazy. There's no need to crush anything or clean anything out after a certain time. They are snails. They are slow eaters. If they don't finish, they go back. As long as you're staying on top of your tank maintenance & vacuuming it with water changes I haven't noticed any changes in my ammonia or nitrite levels from leaving the tablets in the tanks until they clean it up. I just don't add any more until it's gone & maybe add 1 less the next time. If you only have 1 small snail in the tank, you can use a butter knife or pill cutter to cut the tablet in half & feed your snail 1/2 tablet. However the tablet will dissolve (for lack of a better word) a lot quicker. So if you have a faster filter, the snail might not get to it in time before it's all gone. **Q: Can you feed these to sunfish** A: Whether they are marine or freshwater, sunfish are carnivores and eat small fish, insects, crustaceans, etc. If you wish to house them in an aquarium, we would recommend feeding Tetra Cichlid Flakes or Foodsticks instead of TetraMin Tropical Flakes which is more of an omnivore diet. **Q: Do these leave a mess on the tank bottom?** A: Only if you feed too much, and/or do not have any bottom-feeding fish like catfish or plecostomus in your tank. Also keep in mind that , just like us, when fish eat they also poop, and this will eventually dirty the tank. The bottom feeders help with that mess too, but you will always need to clean your tank on a regular basis. **Q: Will my african dwarf frog eat these? Im having a hard time feeding him flakes and the little tadpole pellets.** A: Dwarf African frogs eat live black worms, etc. Some can be trained to eat fish food, but many cannot.
