First of let me tell you that this is one sturdy piece of equipment, it says on the back that it is designed in germany and it sure feels right. Great build and I personally love the side wooden panels, gives it this lovely retro look. Enough on the looks (cannot get my eyes of this beauty) let us talk about what it actually does.. 2 Inputs and 2 outputs... That is it. It is always best that you stick to the basics.. This simple interface is so easy to use.. it literally took me under 5 minutes to unpack, connect my yamaha's and to select the interface from my mac.. Truly plug n play. It comess with a license of Bitwig 8 Track , Which i will use as my secondary practise DAW.. Let us see how simple that gets for me.. On getting the device and testing it out, I discovered the Direct Monitoring had issues, as in, whether you turn it ON or OFF, in both cases, you will ALWAYS hear the Direct Monitoring of your audio input, which I find to be inconvenient in Home Studio environment, where you often try to record vocals in the same room, while often listening music through monitors at low volume. I thought it was a faulty unit so I replaced it with another one within Exchange Window, but upon inspecting the second one, I found the same issue. The Direct Monitor, ONLY when turned on, SHOULD play the input directly in monitors, and otherwise simply record it bypassing the output, which DID NOT happen even the second time. So I came to the conclusion that DM switch doesn't work as intended. This is a FAULT by DESIGN. Other than buzzing, I had to rotate it various time because it was not setting the volume at desirable level. In one word, I got frustrated and decided to look for another interface then while searching i got this i after i used it, felt blessed to not have any such problem which i had in previous one. It send equal signal to both speaker and knob are running smooth without any buzzing sound. Quality is also good.
