Having lost a second SanDisk Sansa Clip to regular but repeated use, this suggested itself as a possible replacement.  It does the job, but only just.  Bluetooth doesn't work with my Edifier speakers.  It will play FLAC, but the files appear only in the Files Folder view, or as Unknown (along with hundreds of other FLAC files) in the Artists view.  Screen cover quickly developed dimples and bubbles. Decent battery life.  If I had to do it again, I would spend a little more on something possibly more reliable.  If you need something cheap and simple, this might do.
