We would also suggest keeping the print cooling fan off for the first layer. Use a skirt - Extruding a skirt gives an early indication of adhesion and levelness. It also makes sure the print is started using "fresh" filament. A slower first layer - we suggest between 20mm/s and 30mm/s. This depends somewhat on the size of the model, surface area and the moving mass and accuracy of the printer. Lower printing speed - Generally a lower printing speed helps print quality, this is especially true of tall, detailed or less stable prints and helps difficult prints stay stuck. Avoid contamination - Any grease, oil, or other contaminant does have an adverse affect on Crystal Grip. Please follow the instructions on the bottle to clean the bed and then use tools to remove parts (they should come off easily when cold). Use a very clean damp cloth (preferably microfibre) between prints to clean up excess before re applying. Usage - Crystal Grip contains well over 30% dissolved solids by mass, so it should not take too many squirts per print, again it depends on build area etc, but the result should be an even crystalline haze that does not pool or form into larger droplets (if it does it could be there is grease or detergent present). Allow to dry before the print starts - Generally on a heated bed at 60C this takes under a minute. A quick note on health and safety - although we label the product "keep out of reach of children" the ingredients are all very safe indeed and even drinking a whole bottle is exceptionally unlikely to have any adverse effect (although we would not advise trying!) and therefore Crystal Grip 359 is well suited for use by supervised children, for example in a school setting.
