So from face of door to face of plate is 3/16 inch. **Q: What is the diameter of the handle?** A: They are about 1" in diameter. I have these, they are very nice. :) **Q: I just received mine, no screws included** A: Is there a connector to assembly two 8" rails to make a 16" rail system? **Q: Can this be used on an Exterior Door?** A: I bought the black version and I love it. It appears to be powder coated metal, and I think it would be fine on exterior door.
