It can pick up heavy items like a full 1-litre bottle of car oil. The dimpled rubber pads on the jaws grip well.The aluminium shaft looks robust enough and the handle incorporating the trigger is easy to grip. The trigger allows four fingers to grip it.The rear of the handle has a rubber inset which makes it easy to grip in wet weather. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by E***S on 21 December 2017* good grip and easy to use ### ⭐ No locks, built cheaply -- not like the old PicStik! *by M***Y on 30 June 2018* I just received the 32 " yellow PikStik and realized that it wasn't made in the same as my 32 PikStik that I've had for years. The new PikStik has NO LOCK! It feels too light in my hand and seems very cheaply made. The new one will be used in one room where I don't have to use a steadier PikStick -- just for light items up high. I opened it already -- can't return. It's NOT worth the $$ that I paid for this piece of crap. Have they stopped making the PikStick with the locks on either side of the handle? My old one locks in 2 positions. Photos posted with this are of my OLD PikStik.
