I began in Duolingo but quickly realized learning the Kana is a MUST! This book makes it easy to learn and practice very quickly, if you put the time in. I have almost learned all of the 840 Words book, and have started reviewing the 100 Sentences to understand grammar, following the recommended way to learn Japanese and it truly is a fantastic system. The author is a kind and patient teacher; I know it’s a book, not a human, but it’s true nonetheless.
