## Description

A totally unique, quick drying, water based grain filler and wood putty accepts stain beautifully or can be tinted. Never goes bad Easy to apply and clean up No shrinking, cracking or falling out. Does not become permanent until you apply a finish. If youre ever unhappy with the way it looks, the color, etc. ? just water it down and remove it. If it freezes, simply put it in the microwave to warm it up or if it dries out, just stir in water. This allows for zero waste! This might just be the perfect wood filler. Manufacturer recommends using only stainless steel or plastic tools to apply because Timbermate may react with low grade steels and turn black. If this happens, simply add water and remove it, or wait for it to dry and sand it off.

**Q: Can this be used to fill in oak kitchen cabinet grain and painted after for a smooth finish?**
A: I've had good luck with this filler adhering to the wood but depending on how much varnish/stain the wood has may make it less effective. If you are asking about using it on new wood I think it should work fine. Overfill slightly and then sanding should give a smooth finish. You could also try thinning it a bit with water which should allow it to penetrate the grain better and make it easier to work with.

**Q: Is it true advertising that it does not shrink?  How long, after filling a finish nail hole, does it take to dry?**
A: It is amazing filler. Does not shrink or crack. Drying time depends on conditions.

**Q: How many jars for an average size kitchen on oak cabinets? I just want to tone down the grain, not cover completely.**
A: Probably a lot. I would recommend starting with a larger size and see hard far it goes.

**Q: My kitchen cabinets are off white and I'm looking for some filler to use where my white wood trim has widened.  Would this match?**
A: If what you are trying to repair this product will not work unless you apply, sand, and then paint to match the white color

This worked great to fill the grain on my oak mantle so that I could paint it white. I applied it by making the slurry as instructed on numerous YouTube videos, let it dry, and sanded. It sanded very easily. After 3 coats, the mantle was able to be painted without grain marks. A small amount of this product goes a long way because you can scrape it off / sand it off and reuse it by putting some water into it. The only downfall to this product is it does have a terrible odor. For me, it was worth putting up with the odor because it was so easy to work with.

I have used this product before with much success filling the grain in oak cabinets. This jar was soooo hard that even after mixing and adding water for an hour, I could never get it to a consistency to apply.  Nothing but lumps and clumps and when I tried to apply it anyway, it just crumbled.  Really disappointed.
