I couldn't get mine apart to clean out the acid/gunk without destroying it (I tried), so had to buy these for just shy of $30. I bought 1 first to see if that was the issue for sure (knowing my 2 story blinds worked about a year or 2 ago). I was fairly certain as I used a voltmeter to check them and barely any voltage coming through w/ new batteries. Once the new one arrived, did the same and huge difference as voltage was reading correct. I climbed up 20ft in my family room and put it in... nothing. Remembered that if the wand was corroded, maybe the connections were too. Took some sand paper and sanded down the connections on the unit itself. Boom, immediately started working. So here I am, ordered a 2nd one for the other window. This wand was an easy fix for some ridiculously expensive blinds that haven't worked for some time. Review: Better than replacing the blind - Used this to replace the battery holder in the electric shade in our bathroom. Prior to we could not get the shade to work and the cost to replace was way to high. After replacing and making sure contacts were both clean the shade works well.
