It attains a height of 1-3 metres. The plant produces 15-25 cm long, candle-shaped inflorescences. The buds are blue-violet first and the petals turn from pink into a salmon pink colour. Flowers appear in late winter / spring just before the new leaves are sprouting. The pink shower tree produces 10-20 leaf pairs on every shoot and its wood is hard and heavy. Origin: The Cassia is indigenous to Central and South America. A lot of Cassia trees, also large in size, can be found in Brazil. Propagation: The seeds can be started indoors at any time throughout the year. Slightly roughen the seeds with sandpaper and leave them to soak in water at room temperature for 24 hours. Put them 1 cm deep into moist cultivation soil afterwards. Given even moisture and temperatures of 21°-25°C, the seeds germinate after 2-5 weeks.Place / Light: The pink shower tree can be left in the wintergarden throughout the year, but may also spend the summer in a pot/tub placed on the balcony, terrace or in the garden from May on.Care: For a healthy growth, the plant requires good tub plant soil or potting compost, mixed with gravel or expanded clay.
