The “intelligent” micro-processor controlled electronic motor adapts its speed automatically to the pump load and always seeks the best efficiency and the lowest possible consumption of energy. This energy consumption is about fifty per cent lower than in conventional pump motors. The pump stops immediately if it becomes blocked. After the blockage has been removed, the pump will start up automatically after a delay of 20 seconds. The pump driver is provided with a fish care function, which causes a revolution of the propeller every twenty seconds when the pump is at a standstill. This deters small fish from going into the pump when it is paused, so that they don’t become ‘minced fish’ when the pump switches itself back on. Like all Nanostream pumps the Tunze 6055 has a very large strainer, which prevents blockages, while the unique spherical shape means that the pump can be angled to give almost any direction of flow. The Nanostream 6095 is supplied with a magnetic holder, which enables it to be simply attached at any position on the side of the aquarium. This latest version of the Tunze nanostream 6055 has the new titanium allow shaft for silent running as well as the new Silence Clamp. Unlike the previous design the new Silence Clamp is connected to the magnetic holder using four silicone rubber mounts. These rubber mounts greatly reduce any vibration/noise being heard from the pump, and is a big improvement on the previous design that did allow some noise leakage. The Tunze Nanostream 6055 is now supplied with an integrated 7090 controller. Much more powerful than I expected. I guess my old pumps don't turn over as much water anymore as they are rated to do. I love the pulse/ wave feature and the power level adjust was very welcome when I found the pump could easily kick up all the sand in my tank.
